The Root Session
The Root Session is a complimentary forty-five-minute video conversation, and every program begins with one. We talk through what you shared in Your Health Story, what you are experiencing, what you have already tried, and what your weeks hold. Near the end, we discuss which program fits what you have described and what it involves. The Root Session is available once per prospective client, and completing one does not guarantee a place in a program.
Before we meet, you complete Your Health Story in full and return your signed Root Session Agreement at least 48 hours before the conversation. Some questions allow “Not applicable,” “I am not sure,” or “I prefer not to answer,” and those are complete answers. I read what you write before we speak, so our forty-five minutes begin where you are rather than with the basics. If either is not received by the deadline, we find a new time that protects that preparation.
Near the end of the Root Session, we talk about the programs and whether one fits what you have described. If you decide to move forward, your enrollment materials and welcome packet are sent through your Practice Better portal. Where possible, we establish a recurring session day and time based on current and mutual availability.
During the Root Session, there is no pressure to enroll. Part of the conversation is deciding whether the work, the timing, and the fit make sense for both of us. If they do not, I will be honest with you about that. When what you need would be better supported somewhere else, I may point you toward another kind of professional or resource, when reasonably available. A conversation that ends with clarity is a conversation that did its job.
Health Coaching and Fit
Three things. Each program follows a defined arc, so the work is not improvised from one session to the next. Every habit is chosen by you and sized to hold on a hard day, not only a good one. It is reviewed against the days you lived before another is considered. The education is also specific to this season: what is commonly relevant during perimenopause and menopause, what the evidence supports, and what belongs with your healthcare provider instead of with me.
Yes. Support The Root is a solo practice, so every Root Session, every coaching session, and every message through your Practice Better portal is with me. You work with one coach from the first conversation to the last, and the person who designed the work is the person who walks it with you.
Support The Root works with clients age 18 or older who are located in the United States. Sessions are held virtually through Practice Better and scheduled in Eastern Time.
A physician diagnoses and treats medical conditions. A registered dietitian provides clinical nutrition therapy. Health coaching is a different discipline, focused on behavior change and the daily conditions that help a change continue. My work is helping you decide what to change, size it to the week you are living, build accountability in a way that suits you, and adjust the habit when it stops fitting.
I am a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, and I hold the mindbodygreen perimenopause and menopause+ Certificate of Completion. That training shapes the education I bring into each area and the boundaries I keep around it. For example, in Rest, it means understanding that sleep can change during this transition for several reasons. In Movement, it means understanding the importance of muscle, bone, mobility, and cardiovascular health through midlife and the years beyond without presenting movement as treatment for hot flashes or prescribing exercise. It also means distinguishing general education from questions that require assessment, diagnosis, or treatment by a licensed healthcare provider.
No outcome is promised. How you respond to coaching will differ according to your health, circumstances, choices, and the support you may need outside coaching. What I can stand behind is the process: a habit you choose, sized to a hard day, reviewed against the days you lived, and resized or replaced when it stops fitting.
The Work
We begin with your life rather than another plan to follow, and each habit is sized to hold on a hard day rather than only a good one. When something stops fitting, we look at what happened and resize or replace it rather than pushing through. The week that disrupted it becomes part of what we work from.
Each session opens the area planned for it. We look at how the last stretch went, then explore that area in your life: your routines, what gets in the way, what your capacity allows right now, and what matters to you in it. I offer brief education relevant to that area. From that conversation you choose one habit. We size it down until it would hold on a hard day, agree on the accountability that will support you, and check your confidence in it before we close. Sessions are held virtually through your portal.
You choose it, from the conversation in that session rather than from a list. Then it is sized down until it would still happen on a hard day. Before another habit is added, we look at how consistently the first one happened, how manageable it felt, and whether it can hold through a difficult week. If it is not holding yet, nothing is added; the habit is resized or replaced instead.
Scope and Care
Hormone therapy, supplements, and lab results are medical matters, and they are best held by your physician or licensed provider. My work stays in the daily habits that support your health, while those decisions remain with you and your providers. If something you bring falls outside coaching, I will name it clearly.
Specialized support outside scope
Support The Root does not provide pregnancy-specific or postpartum-specific coaching, prenatal or postpartum nutrition care, exercise prescription, or symptom assessment. Those call for specialized training beyond the scope of this practice.
When general lifestyle coaching may still fit
Being pregnant or postpartum does not close the door on its own. If the support you are seeking stays within general lifestyle habits, values, routines, and accountability, coaching may still be a fit. If pregnancy or postpartum circumstances may affect the support you are seeking, please tell me before enrolling or during the work.
When another kind of support is needed
Where the support requested requires specialized expertise, Support The Root may decline, modify, pause, or end coaching, and may provide general referral information where reasonably available.
Confidentiality and limited disclosures
What you share in coaching is treated as confidential, subject to the limited circumstances described in your signed agreement. Those include disclosure with your authorization; as reasonably necessary to provide and administer services; to professional advisers subject to confidentiality obligations; as required or permitted by law; or in response to a serious and reasonably imminent risk of harm. Where disclosure is necessary, only what is reasonably appropriate is shared.
HIPAA and privacy practices
Support The Root is not a HIPAA-covered entity and does not represent that you receive rights under HIPAA through the coaching relationship. Reasonable privacy and security practices are applied to the information it maintains. The complete terms are in your signed agreement and the Privacy Policy.
Sessions and Programs
All three programs are one-on-one and follow the same coaching method. Each session opens a planned area of focus, you choose one habit from that conversation, and that habit is reviewed before another is considered. Every program ends with Integration and Root Completion in an extended final session. Rooted includes four weekly sessions across four weeks, with the final session extended to 75 minutes. Root Restore includes six sessions across three months, held approximately every other week, with the final session extended to 75 minutes. Deeply Rooted includes twelve sessions across six months, held approximately every other week, with a Pivot at Session Six to review the first three months and set the focus for the months ahead. The final session is extended to 90 minutes.
The every-other-week rhythm of Root Restore and Deeply Rooted gives each habit room to be lived through ordinary weeks and adjusted before the work moves forward. That is what the length is for: time for a practice to be tested in the weeks you are living and resized when it does not fit. The Root Session is where we find the right fit together.
All sessions are held virtually through Practice Better. At enrollment, you receive your welcome materials. Programs also include access to between-session Portal Messaging and habit tracking through Practice Better. Every program ends with Root Completion inside the final session.
Root Completion is held inside the final session of every program, not added on afterward. We reflect on what you built, what you want to protect, and what comes next. Your Root Completion Packet is completed with you during that session and records the work you want to carry forward.
A Single Session is a standalone 60-minute coaching session at $325, available after a Root Session for someone who wants one conversation rather than a program. It is separate from program enrollment and is not an enrollment step. A Root Renewal Session is a 60-minute session at $275, available only to clients who have completed Rooted, Root Restore, or Deeply Rooted and want to return for continued coaching after their program has ended.
Investment
The Root Session is complimentary; one per person. All payments are processed through your Practice Better portal. You pay in full before the program begins, or use a payment plan through Practice Better. Your Total Program Investment and payment schedule are shown before enrollment and confirmed in your Schedule A (Program Investment and Payment Schedule). Single Session payment is due before the session.
Health coaching is private pay. Payment is due at enrollment or booking, according to the payment option you select, and is processed through your portal with a valid card on file. Nothing is invoiced afterward. Support The Root does not determine or guarantee HSA or FSA eligibility. Please check with your plan administrator or tax adviser before using those funds.
Please reach out as soon as your schedule changes. A session may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice, subject to current availability. A cancellation without rescheduling requires at least 48 hours’ notice. A cancellation made within 48 hours is treated as a used session and is non-refundable and non-creditable.
Launching rates for Rooted, Root Restore, and Deeply Rooted are available until 11:59 p.m. Eastern on January 11, 2027. Your eligibility is determined when you sign the applicable agreement and the required initial payment settles. Once enrollment is confirmed, your Total Program Investment is locked and will not increase because the launching rate later ends.
If you completed a Root Session, were invited to a program, and joined that program’s waitlist before the launching-rate period ended, your rate is held through March 31, 2027. When a place is offered, you will have seven days to confirm enrollment at that rate. If no place becomes available by March 31, 2027, the launching rate expires.
